Other Funding Options
option: crowdfunding
Crowdfunding is the practice of funding a project or venture by raising monetary contributions from a large number of people, often through the internet. You Caring is an example of a crowdfunding platform that focuses on charitable and personal causes, such as funding scholarships. Another popular site is Gofundme. Look out for high transaction fees on these sights before you sign up.
option: scholarship search
There are tons of scholarships and grants ready to give away, you just need to do some reseach before hand. Check out www.scholarships.com and www.fastweb.com.
option: summer work
A little goes a long way. Let those around you know that you have a goal to meet. You want to get to debate camp this summer! People will be more likely to help when they know your story. Whether its formal employment or doing yardwork for your neighbor, every little bit adds up.
